2016 Nissan Sentra SV vs 2016 Nissan Sentra SR

2016 Nissan Sentra SV vs SR standard features

Welcome back to our 2016 Nissan Sentra trim level guide! Here at Continental Nissan, we don't just want to help you decide which new car to buy -- we want to help you know exactly which features you can expect to get at each price level, so you can choose the car with the overall best package for your lifestyle. Take the 2016 Nissan Sentra. The Sentra SV trim represents the middle of the price range, with a nice, well-rounded assortment of features. The Sentra SR is the sportier high-end version, with edgier looks and some convenient, useful extras. Is it worth the upgrade? That's for you to decide.

Let's start with the similarities. Both versions of the Sentra use an identical powertrain, with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine mated to Nissan's XTronic CVT. No extra engine options to contend with here. Both the Sentra SV and the Sentra SR come standard with push-button start, a rearview camera, Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio, and Siri Eyes Free. NissanConnect with Mobile Apps is also standard on both versions of the Sentra, with an optional navigation upgrade available as well. Heated front seats are optional on the Sentra SV, and standard on the Sentra SR.

Sentra SR Stands Out From The Crowd

So, what do you gain from upgrading to the Sentra SR? On top of everything included on the Sentra SV, the SR trim adds a collection of new options. These include leather-trimmed seats with power lumbar support, a Bose premium audio system, HomeLink universal transceiver, and a NissanConnect Services package. On the active safety front, while both versions of the Sentra have blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alerts available, the Sentra SR adds available forward emergency braking too.

The 2016 Sentra SR boasts quite a collection of appearance upgrades as well. The SR trim gets a redesigned rear bumper, topped by a spoiler with a snazzy integrated brake light. It also gets a full suite of LED lighting: headlights, taillights, and mirror-based turn signal lights, plus fog lights too, because fog lights are cool. It rides on stylish 17" wheels, and its interior is trimmed in exclusive Sport Silver, instead of the Piano Black scheme the Sentra's other mid- and high-end versions get.
