2016 Nissan Sentra SR vs 2016 Nissan Sentra SL

So you've decided to buy a fully-loaded Nissan Sentra. That's great, but which one? A high-end 2016 Sentra can come in two different flavors: the sporty Sentra SR or the luxurious Sentra SL. Both models have their advantages. The Sentra SL is the one we can truly describe as "fully-loaded", offering the largest collection of standard features on any 2016 Sentra. The Sentra SR, though, offers many of the same features, plus a unique look, with sporty styling and design flourishes you won't find on any other member of the lineup.

Both the Sentra SR and the Sentra SL use the same powertrain -- a 1.8L four-cylinder engine paired with Nissan's XTronic CVT -- so there's no need to choose between different engine options when deciding which Sentra trim to buy. Both of them come standard with push-button start, a rearview camera, heated seats, Bluetooth and Siri Eyes Free, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, and a SiriusXM satellite radio subscription. Both cars ride on stylish signature 17" wheels. And both the Sentra SR and SL can be upgraded with a Bose premium audio system.

Which Sentra is Right for You?

Here's where the differences start. The Sentra SR's rear bumper is redesigned and topped off with a spoiler with a stylish integrated LED brake light -- this isn't available on any other trim, including the range-topping Sentra SL. The Sentra SR gets additional signature LED lighting, and an exclusive Sport Silver interior.

The Sentra SL, on the other hand, is trimmed in elegant Piano Black. Leather seating is optional on the SR, but it comes standard on the Sentra SL. The Sentra SL also gets a standard built-in navigation system with a 5.8" touchscreen display monitor. This comes with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link too. The Sentra SL also comes standard with a HomeLink universal transceiver.
